We investigate how the body produces blood platelets, the cells that stop bleeding, and how this process is altered in disease. Our work focuses on uncovering the basic biology of platelet formation and function in order to understand the causes of bleeding and clotting disorders and to identify new strategies for their prevention and treatment.
